ROUND LAKE, Illinois – The Grieve Corporation, known for bringing practical solutions to a variety of industries, has two new furnaces that the mineral industry can use.

The first is No.834, an electrically-heated (290°C) shelf oven ideal for drying trays of ore samples. Workspace dimensions are 1,270-mm wide x 760-mm deep x 1,370-mm high. The unit has 10-cm insulated walls and a Type 430 stainless steel interior. A recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow to the samples. Stainless steel pans are held by three tiers of 17 shelf supports on a 75-mm vertical center.

Controls onboard No.834 include a digital indicating temperature controller, recirculating blower airflow safety switch and a manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors.

The other, No.1006, is an electrically heated (175°C) gravity roller design, conveyorized tunnel oven from Grieve, currently used for drying precipitate in pans . Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 1,675-mm wide x 5.8-m deep x 380-mm high. The unit has Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements, while a 500 m3/min recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow.

This Grieve furnace also features 10-cm insulated walls, aluminized steel interior and exterior and a gravity roller conveyor with 50-cm diameter rollers on 15-cm centers. It also includes a 1.2-metre long open loading zone, 5.8-metre long insulated heat zone and 1.2-metre long open uploading zone.
