| Main Body | This 2-day short-course explores the uses and immediate applications of geochemical data processing to the mineral exploration industry. A variety of tools that can be used at all stages of exploration, from resources estimates to vectoring in the greenfields environment will be explained. This is also a chance for students to gain valuable expertise that will serve them both in research and in employment opportunities. The course will be in lecture format with problems that can be applied to a range of environments. If you are looking to increase the value of geochemical data, this course is a must. Enrolment may be restricted depending on the number of applicants. |
| Schedule | Friday November 23 1. "Why can't the lab reproduce my gold assays?" 2. Introduction to Exploratory Data Analysis (Part 1)
Saturday November 24 3. Exploratory Data Analysis (Part 2) 4. Advanced Geochemical Data Interpretation
Sunday November 25 5. ioGAS Introduction and users meeting
|
| Fees | The course is presented as a series of 5 modules. The fee is $250/module for non-members of DIVEX, $200/module for members of DIVEX and $45/module for students. The final module 5, an introduction to the iogas software and users meeting, is free. The fees increase after November 2. |
| Additional Info | The conventions of the AEMQ (http://www.congresaemq.com) and Québec Mines (http://quebecmines.mrnf.gouv.qc.ca) in the week before and after the workshop, are the largest assembly for mineral exploration in Quebec. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience with the most important tools of applied modern geochemistry, among peers, presented by experts with a wide range of international experience. The course qualifies as training towards continued education requirements of the Ordre des Géologues du Quebec. |
