Sandvik’s Vibrocone is a new type of cone crusher designed to generate more fines than most conventional cone crushers. Material is crushed by means of multiple compressions and it accepts a large top size in the feed. Material is crushed in a thick material bed and exposed to a controlled optimum force that can be adjusted, like in high pressure grinding rolls. And, material is crushed against material. The result is a crusher moving into the grinding performance area. Since crushers are typically 10 times more energy efficient than mills, this is an opportunity to reduce the amount of energy needed for comminution. Depending on the actual flow chart, energy savings on grinding alone can be more than 25%. Find more information at www.sandvik.com/vibrocone
