NICKEL MINING: Bucko Lake production to resume

TEXT SIZE bigger text smaller text

MANITOBA — Toronto-based Crowflight Minerals has announced its intention to resume nickel production at its Bucko Lake mine near Wabowden by the end of February 2010. The target milling rate is 1,000 t/d during Q2 and 1,200 t/d during the last half of the year.

Mining was suspended in November 2009. Meanwhile, Crowflight has been working on a surface ramp to the 1000 level; lateral level development; infill drilling on the 500, 600 and 900 levels; upgrading and commissioning the hydraulic backfill plant; and redesign of the mining method. Mining will proceed in the West Limb between the 1000 and 450 levels until 2011 and in the Hinge zone later this year.

More information about the Bucko mine is posted at www.Crowflight.com.
