VANCOUVER - The 7th BC Aboriginal Consultation conference, presented the Canadian Institute, is to take place June 23-24, 2010, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver. The conference includes updates from government, insights from local Aboriginal governments, and best practices from industry specialists.

The speakers list include the Hon. George Abbot, Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation; Sophie Pierre, chief commissioner of the BC Treaty Commission; and Grand Chief Ed John of the First Nations Summit; among others. Case histories on the topic of consultation will be presented by BC Hydro, Sea Breeze Power, Timberline Natural Resources and Denali Canada.

Representatives from the mining and exploration industry are invited as well as those from the oil and gas, forestry, pipeline, power generation and transmission industries. The conference will also be of interest to federal and provincial employees, Aboriginal government, engineering and environmental consultants, and law firms.
