VANCOUVER — The 15th Annual BC-MEND Metal Leaching & Acid Rock Drainage Workshop is set of Dec. 3-4, 2008, at Simon Fraser University Harbour Centre in Vancouver. Topics will include hydrogeology and geochemistry; tailings disposal; mitigation; closure plans; and post-closure performance. The emphasis will be on full-scale case studies, practical constraints and sustaining successful disposal strategies and remediation. Papers will be delivered by representatives of professional organizations, government, academia, producers and consultants.
The early registration fee is $150 and includes the two-day meeting, coffee breaks, and a copy of the workshop presentations on CD-ROM, which will be mailed to all registrants after the workshop. For early registration, the form and payment must be received by Nov. 26. After that date, delegates will have to register at the workshop and pay the full fee of $175. Cheques should be made payable to the "TRCT-ARD Workshop".
