MONTREAL – Eastmain Resources of Toronto has won the Discovery of the Year 2015 for work at its Eau Claire gold property in the northern part of the province. The award was presented by the Quebec Mineral Exploration Association (AEMQ) at its annual meeting this week.

The discovery award recognizes the importance of a recent discovery that has had a ripple effect on exploration activities within a property and the surrounding area. Recent discoveries by Eastmain have led to the expansion and delineation of Eau Clair and to new prospects discovered along the Eau Claire trend.

Eau Claire, part of the Clearwater project, is the second highest grade undeveloped open pit gold resource in North America within a short list of open pit projects containing more than 500,000 oz of gold in measured and indicated resources. At Eau Claire, that resource category is 6.8 million tonnes at a grade of 4.05 g/t Au and containing 885,000 oz of gold.
