PERU – Toronto-based Macusani Yellowcake says its Peruvian subsidiary, Global Gold SAC, has won the prestigious CONACO International Award for the Best Company of the Year. The award recognizes outstanding companies or entrepreneurs with operations in various South American companies and within selected sectors.
"We are extremely honoured that our efforts to advance our uranium projects and build a world class mining company in Peru are being recognized both in Peru and internationally," said Dr. Laurence Stefan, president and CEO of Macusani Yellowcake. "The company is very proud of this award and I would like to congratulate our employees on this great accomplishment."
The company said a number of government officials attended the award ceremony including Cecilia Chacon de Vettori, a Peruvian congresswoman and member of the Commission of Energy and Mines of Peru. She previously arranged a ceremony in the national congress where she awarded Macusani Yellowcake an honorary degree in recognition of the outstanding business performance and the company’s contribution to national development.
