THUNDER BAY, Ontario – The Northwest Ontario Prospectors Association has awarded the Bernie Schneiders Discovery of the Year Award to Transition Metals and Impala Platinum Holdings for their Sunday Lake platinum discovery. The presentation was made at the annual awards dinner during the 2014 Northwestern Ontario Mines and Minerals Symposium on April 8.

The Sunday Lake property is located 25 km north of Thunder Bay and covers a 3.5-km diameter reversely polarized magnetic anomaly that Transition Metals says is associated with a large buried mafic-ultramafic intrusion interpreted to be of Proterozoic age and related to the Midcontinental Rift.

A total of 2,500 metres of drilling is planned this season, and one drill is at the Sunday Lake site. Borehole EM surveys of accessible holes are also planned. Holes drilled by a previous operator in 2012 returned 1.21 g/t Pt+Pd over 2.10 metres, including 1.60 g/t over 1.05 metres.

Sunday Lake photos and maps are posted at TransitionMetalsCorp.com.
