CLERICY, Quebec Drilling at BREAKWATER RESOURCES' Langlois base metal mine indicates a 26% increase in reserves in Zone 97. This adds up to a total 14.9% increase in total reserves. Measured and indicated resources total 4.98 million tonnes grading 11.2% Zn, 0.8% Cu, 0.1 g/t Au and 54 g/t Ag. There are also another 1.25 million tonnes classified as inferred resources at 9.7% Zn, 0.5% Cu, 0.1 g/t Au and 40 g/t Ag.

The mine has been on care-and-maintenance since 2001, when an ore pass problem and low zinc prices forced the suspension of mining. SRK, which produced a feasibility study on the ore pass problem in 2001, will update its report incorporating the greater reserve estimates.

Complete drill results for the 97 zone are available at www.breakwater.ca in the news release dated May 22, 2003.
