QUEBEC – Beaufield Resources of Montreal is pleased with the latest resource estimate from its Tortigny copper-zinc-silver-gold deposit 125 km northwest of Chibougamau. The 43-101 report prepared by SGS Canada estimates the deposit contains 845,000 measured and indicated tonnes grading 2.01% Cu, 4.29% Zn, 55.29 g/t Ag and 0.39 g/t Au.

The measured and indicated resource is further divided as in pit or underground mineralization. Roughly 33% is attributable to the planned pit and 67% to underground development. Grades are, as expected, slightly higher in the underground resource.

Beaufield says the Tortigny lens consists of a deformed, high grade, massive sulphides ore body hosted by meta-sedimentary rocks (argillite and siltstone) intercalated between two geochemically distinct mafic volcanic (basalt) units.

The nearby former Troilus mine site, also owned by Beaufield, has much of the infrastructure that could be updated if the Tortigny deposit were to be developed.
