ONTARIO - LIBERTY MINES of Toronto is proceeding with planning and permitting to begin mining at the McWatters nickel property 25 km southeast of Timmins. The McWatters property is only 9 km east of Liberty's producing Redstone nickel mine.

The McWatters project will be a combination of an open pit to 100 m depth and an underground component that extends a further 30 m below part of the pit. BH MARTIN CONSULTANTS LTD. has designed a mine plan based on the 43-101-compliant resource calculation done by ROSCOE POSTLE ASSOCIATES in October 2005. The mine plan includes an open pit resource of 539,660 tonnes grading 0.6% Ni, which is projected to be exploited in 18 months. The underground resource consists of 168,203 tonnes grading 2.77% Ni and will take about six months to mine.

The mine should be in production during the third quarter of 2007 at an average mining rate of 1,000 t/d. Ore from the mine will be concentrated at the new mill at the Redstone mine site.

Liberty (www.LibertyMines.com) has also purchased the West McWatters claim from CANADIAN ARROW MINES.
