ONTARIO – SGS Canada announced that its environmental laboratory in Lakefield has successfully completed the requirements of the Programme d'accréditation des laboratoires d'analyse (PALA) (accreditation program for analysis laboratories) for soil, process and waste water testing. This includes acid rock Drainage (ARD) testing procedures. The PALA is administered by the Centre d'expertise en analyse environnementale du Québec (CEAEQ) and includes the requirements for ISO/IEC 17025:2005.

A total of 18 domains (groups) were evaluated, including those in relation to Directive 019 sur l’industrie minière (mining directive 019), Règlement sur l’enfouissement des sols contaminés (landfilling of contaminated soil), Programme de Réduction des Rejets Industriels (PRRI)- Secteur minier, (industrial releases reduction program, minerals sector) and règlement sur les matières dangereuses (RMD).
