BOSTON, Massachusetts — Ceres, a coalition of investors, environmental organization and other public interest groups, has placed Canadian Natural Resources (CNRL), an oil sands producer, on its investors' climate watch list. Those that make the list are companies that, according to Ceres, perform poorly when it comes to addressing climate risks and opportunities.
CNRL was asked in 2007 to disclose its climate risks, and to this date, Ceres says the company has not responded. Nor has it met with investors to discuss the matter. Moreover, it is the only oil company opposing Alberta's multi-stakeholder process to create an environmental management strategy.
Ceres posts its annual reports at www.Ceres.org.
