NORTHEAST BRITISH COLUMBIA TALISMAN ENERGY and WESTERN CANADIAN COAL of Vancouver concluded an exploration agreement covering Talisman's Sukunka coal property. Western intends to begin geological database and model development immediately with the intent of identifying potential mine areas, and subsequently, to make a mine development proposal to Talisman. After a development agreement is concluded by the two companies, Western's goal is to begin underground production within two years.

The Sukunka leases are located between Tumbler Ridge and Chetwynd, B.C. The property lies between Western's Burnt River and Wolverine coal properties. Sukunka was the subject of exploration drilling, bulk sampling, test mining, and feasibility studies 25 years ago. The property has historical resources of 120 million tonnes of metallurgical coal.

Western is working to get the Wolverine development into production later this year. Learn more at www.WesternCoal.com.
