BRITISH COLUMBIA – PINE VALLEY MINING of Vancouver has begun commissioning its coal preparation plant at the Willow Creek mine. It is expected to reach the designed annual rate of at least 2.2 million tonnes by the end of October.

Work is nearing completion on the mining, crushing and handling facilities as well. Pine Valley will produce coking coal as well as low-volatile pulverized coal-injection (PCI) coal. An amendment to its mining permit is required if the desired production rate is to be attained.
