ALBERTA Calgarys SYNENCO ENERGY, the managing partner of the Northern Lights Partnership, has released the first independent coal resource estimate for the project. The property, part of which overlaps the Northern Lights oil sands leases in northeast Alberta, hosts 63.0 million t of coal in the indicated category and 78.7 million t in the inferred category. The coal is ranked as sub-bituminous C.<br>

Synenco holds five coal lease applications on behalf of the partnership. Additional technical and economic analysis to determine the existence and extent of any benefits from recovering this coal resource must be completed before the partners would consider applying for exploration or development permission.<br>
