COPPER DEVELOPMENT: Mining equipment ordered for Copper Mountain project

BRITISH COLUMBIA — Copper Mountain Mining of Vancouver has ordered the fleet for its Copper Mountain project 15 km west of Princeton. An order has been placed with SMS Equipment for more than $70 million worth of Komatsu mobile mining equipment to be delivered over the next 18 months. Pre-production is to begin in June 2010.

The equipment ordered includes 2 Komatsu PC8000 electric-hydraulic shovels with 42-m³ buckets, 13 Komatsu 830-E 240-t electric drive trucks, 1 Komatsu WA1200 front-end loader, 2 Komatsu D375A track dozers and 1 Komatsu WD600 wheel dozer.

Copper Mountain reports that mill foundation work at the site is progressing well, and the pouring of concrete will continue through December 2009. The erection of building steel will begin in 2010.
