QUEBEC – Results of the winter drilling program at the Magusi River copper-zinc-silver-gold deposits 30 km northwest of Rouyn-Noranda are positive, reports Mag Copper of Toronto. Highlights include:

  • 1.08% Cu, 1.23% Zn, 0.34 g/t Au and 25.63 g/t Ag over 24.13 metres true width including a high grade interval of 0.67% Cu, 6.33% Zn, 0.58 g/t Au and 23.68 g/t Ag over 3.16 m true width;
  • 1.03% Cu, 1.88% Zn, 0.23 g/t Au and 18.43 g/t Ag over 5.56 m true width; and
  • 1.08% Cu, 3.95% Zn, 0.32 g/t Au and 20.14 g/t Ag over 5.5 m true width.

Mag focused its drilling campaign on expanding the current resources, establish continuity between the Main and East zones, and to test other targets on the property. The most recent 43-101 report included only assays from the Main zone. The total indicated resource is 1.4 million tonnes grading 1.85% Cu, 4.31% Zn, 41.8 g/t Ag and 1.25 g/t Au, divided between high grade copper and high grade zinc mineralization. The inferred resource is 350,000 tonnes at 3.41% Cu, 0.39% Zn, 0.26 g/t Au and 24.2 g/t Ag, consisting of high grade copper mineralization.
