BRITISH COLUMBIA - IMPERIAL METALS of Vancouver has cut 1.07% Cu, 1.27 g/t Au and 4.00 g/t Ag over 822.6 metres at its Red Chris copper-gold project 20 km southeast of Iskut. The intersection came from hole RC07-335 collared in a highly silicified quartz stockwork located in the central part of the East zone.

The same hole returned a 240.0-metre section grading 1.84% Cu and 1.74 g/t Au, a 20.0-metre section at 2.50% Cu and 4.36 g/t Au, and a 55.0-metre section at 1.46% Cu and 3.06 g/t Au. Results from the lower part of the hole, which has a total length of 1,029.0 metres, have not yet been received.

East zone mineralization includes chalcopyrite and bornite, while mineralization within the Main Zone is predominantly chalcopyrite and pyrite. The Red Chris deposit is primarily associated with the Red stock, a monzodiorite intrusion that has quartz, sericite, ankerite, potassium feldspar and hematite alteration, and is subsequently cut by a sulphide-bearing quartz stockwork.

Maps and very nice photos of the Red Chris project are available at www.ImperialMetals.com.
