BRITISH COLUMBIA - Vancouver-based BCMETALS CORP. says the latest drilling results from its Red Chris project near Iskut shows the potential for expansion of the mineral resource. The best of the latest assays were 1.60% Cu and 1.30 g/t Au over 83.2 m in the East zone; 1.50% Cu and 1.16 g/t Au from the Main zone; and 1.63% Cu and 0.28 g/t Au from the Gully zone (all cut to 0.20% Cu).

The most recent holes were part of a verification program requested by GLOBAL INTERNATIONAL JIANGXI COPPER pursuant to its due diligence investigation into a joint venture partnership for the Red Chris project. bcMetals invited the participation of Jiangxi to fend off a takeover by IMPERIAL METALS. The partnership will be 75% Jiangxi and 25% bcMetals. A new resource estimate is due in Q1 2007.

Further information on the joint venture is available at www.bcMetalsCorp.com.
