COPPER-GOLD EXPLORATION: Massey mine drilling tests IP anomalies

ONTARIO – Mag Copper of Toronto has been drilling at the old Massey copper-gold mine 60 km west of Sudbury to test a series of parallel induced polarization anomalies at depth and along strike of the old mine workings. The assays are encouraging 1.68% Cu and 0.52 g/t Au over 5.7 metres; 2.41% Cu over 3.5 metres; 1.79 g/t over 1 metre; and 0.43% Cu over 7 metres.

Mag Copper believes that the observed lithogeochemistry in the drill core fits within an iron oxide copper gold model. The mineralized zones are open at depth and along strike to the west.

The Massey mine is found within the Hough Lake group metasediments and consists of three shallow underground workings over a strike length of 1.6 km. It was discovered around 1900 and produced an estimated 18,535 tonnes of ore grading 2.82% Cu (non 43-101 compliant) over its operating lifetime. The property includes five past producing copper mines.
