CHILE Toronto’s SOUTH AMERICAN GOLD AND COPPER COMPANY (SAGC) has made the first shipment of concentrates from its Pimenton mine. The shipment consisted of 2,000 kg of gold concentrate from the Knelson gravity circuit and 15.0 tonnes of copper-gold concentrates.

The Pimenton plant is in the commissioning stage. Commercial production will be declared when a throughput of 100 t/d (on the way to 200 t/d) is reached. At 100 t/d, annual production of gold will be 14,375 oz and 33 tonnes of copper.

SAGC also noted that the adit has reached the three known veins, and exploration is continuing on three more structures.

A table of the high grades found in the Lucho Norte and Lucho Sud veins can be found at www.SAGC.com in the news release dated Aug. 13, 2008.
