QUEBEC – Cbay Minerals has begun upgrading the tailings management area at the old Copper Rand mill 55 km south of Chibougamau. Cbay is the operating arm of partners Nuinsco Resources(50%) of Toronto and Ocean Partners Investments (50%) exploring promising deposits and former producers in the area.

Changes to the TMA include raising a dam and construction of an operations and emergency spillway. These changes will allow a quick restart for the existing 2,800-t/d concentrator.

Cbay Minerals has already begun diamond drilling at the Devlin deposit to complete a 43-101 report. The mineralized zone at Devlin is 365 metres long, 215 metres wide and about 1.8 metres thick. It is accessible via a 350-metre decline and more than 600 metres of exploration drifts.

The nearby Corner Bay deposit has measured and indicated resources of 825,000 tonnes grading 3.24% Cu, 0.32 g/t Ag and 3.71 g/t Ag. There are also inferred resources of 734,000 grading 3.33% Cu, 0.28 g/t Au and 11.56 g/t Ag.
