BRITISH COLUMBIA - ABACUS MINING AND EXPLORATION of Vancouver has released an inferred resource figure for its Ajax West deposit, a few kilometres west of Kamloops. Using a 0.2% Cu cutoff, the company puts the numbers at 147.3 million t grading 0.36% Cu and 0.23 g/t Au. The estimate of contained metals is 1.2 billion lb of copper and 1.1 million oz of gold.
Abacus has outlined two other deposits on its Afton project. The DM/Audra deposit hosts 28.5 million t of indicated resources at 0.29% Cu and 0.15 g/t Au and inferred resources of 15.8 million t at 0.28% Cu and 0.12 g/t Au. The Rainbow deposit contains 47.1 million t of indicated resources grading 0.35% Cu and 0.8 g/t Au plus 3.0 million t of inferred resources grading 0.25% Cu and 0.06 g/t Au.
