BRITISH COLUMBIA – Mill operations resumed on April 2, 2014, at the Huckleberry copper mine 125 km southwest of Houston, according to Imperial Metals Corp. of Vancouver. Throughput levels of 700 to 800 t/h are being achieved.

The mill went down on Feb. 26, when a tooth failed on the semi-autogenous grinding mill bull gear. This gear and one of the pinion gears were damaged. To restart the mill, the damaged teeth on the bull gear were re-profiled, the north pinion gear replaced, and the rotation of the mill motors was reversed. An order has been placed for a replacement bull gear and two pinion gears. Delivery is expected in September.

This year's production budget for the Huckleberry mine is 42 million lb of copper, 3,400 oz of gold, and 200,000 oz of silver. Visit www.ImperialMetals.com for additional information.
