BRITISH COLUMBIA - IMPERIAL METALS of Vancouver reports that the first shipment of copper concentrate from its reopened Mount Polley mine left the Vancouver Wharves terminal on July 10. The 11,500 tonnes of 24.5% Cu concentrate contained an estimated 5.57 million lb of copper, 9,340 oz of gold and 23,700 oz of silver.

The concentrate was produced in June mostly from low-grade stockpiled ore plus ore from the Bell and Wight pits. During that month, 117,000 tonnes of ore from the Wight mine grading 0.557% Cu and 0.136 g/t Au was treated in the mill. The Mount Polley mine has a capacity of 20,000 tonnes/day with planned annual production of 60 million lb of copper, 50,000 oz of gold and 250,000 oz of silver.

Several recent maps and diagrams of the Mount Polley project are posted at www.ImperialMetals.com.
