QUEBEC – Going back over old ground sometimes pays off. Chibougamau Independent Mines of Rouyn-Noranda, QC, received promising assays from the very first drill hole that tested a target in an area of historical drilling at its Chibougamau Camp silver-gold project. Five more holes are planned.

Hole BJ-13-09 cut 36.5 metres of mineralization grading 1.58% Cu and 11.1 g/t Au at depths between 22.0 and 58.5 metres below surface. Three high grade intersections were also noted along the core: 3.8% Cu and 29.05 g/t Ag over 3.0 metres; 3.13% Cu and 21.78 g/t Ag over 4.5 metres; and 2.57% Cu and 18.59 g/t Ag over 2.5 metres. The company said that the core also contained anomalous gold values.

Mineralization consists of semi-massive to stringer sulphides with varying amounts of chalcopyrite and pyrite in a carbonate schist from a hole depth of 22 to 46.5 metres. From 46.55 to 58.5 metres the mineralization is comprised of chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite in a brecciated, mineralized anorthosite. Other narrow zones of up to 1.71% Cu were also intersected, said Chibougamau Independent.

Core sampling and quality assurance/quality control procedures and assay methods are available on Chibougamau Independent Mines' website at ChibougamauMines.com under "Technical, Technical Information."

Globex Mining Enterprises holds a 3% gross metal royalty on any production from the Chibougamau Camp project.
