TORONTO - AUR RESOURCES announced record net earnings for 2005 of US$142.3 million or US$1.49/share, compared with US$96.9 million (US$1.03/share) for 2004. Mining revenues last year were up 33% to US$446.9 million.

Aur closed the Louvicourt base metal mine near Val d'Or, Que., in July 2005 and is embarked on developing the Duck Pond copper-zinc deposit in Newfoundland. At the end of January 2006, the length of the Duck Pond ramp was about 1,236 metres, electricity had been brought to the site, the mill building was essentially closed, and major milling equipment was on site. Production is expected in the fourth quarter of this year.
