NORTHWEST TERRITORIES - Shear Diamonds of Toronto is beginning performance tests in the diamond recovery plant at the closed Jericho diamond mine in anticipation of reopening it. Running stockpiled material through the mill will give the company a better understanding of how the plant works and what modifications might be necessary. It will also provide a parcel of diamonds indicative of the original recovery reject pile.

Shear also plans to begin pit dewatering by the end of July 2011. The pit has been flooded since Tahera suspended operations in June 2008. When mining ceased, the Jericho property had a 43-101 indicated resource of 1.88 million ct and inferred resource of 1.13 million ct in five known kimberlites within trucking distance to the recovery plant.
