DIAMOND: Lucara unveils 257-ct clear gem

BOTSWANA – Vancouver-based Lucara Diamond Corp.  has unearthed a 257.24-carat, clear diamond from its Karowe mine. The stone is to be sold in Q4 2013. Previously the largest diamond weighed 239 ct and was found in March this year.

BOTSWANA – Vancouver-based Lucara Diamond Corp.  has unearthed a 257.24-carat, clear diamond from its Karowe mine. The stone is to be sold in Q4 2013. Previously the largest diamond weighed 239 ct and was found in March this year.

Lucara has recovered 47 diamonds that were larger than 50 ct, including 14 that were larger than 100 ct. The company has focused on the Centre and South lobes of the SK6 kimberlite for the last six months.
