NORTHWEST TERRITORIES – Mountain Province Diamonds, 49% owner of the Gahcho Kue mine at Lac des Gras, has recovered a 95-carat diamond. The stone was included in the fancies and special parcel acquired by Mountain Province in the most recent mine production split. De Beers Canada of Calgary is the 51% owner and operator of the mine.

The large diamond is a white octahedron of top clarity. It is the largest gem quality stone and fourth largest stone recovered from the mine since commercial production began in September 2016.

Mountain Province will allow viewings of the 95-carat diamond from June 11 to 22 in Antwerp, Belgium.
