NORTHWEST TERRITORIES – Toronto-based Kennady Diamonds is pleased with the results of the recent bulk sample from the Kelvin kimberlite at the Kennady North project.

Examination of the 443-tonne bulk sample, recovered during large diameter reverse circulation drilling in the southeast lobe of the kimberlite, averaged 2.02 c/t (+85 mm). The sample returned a total of 16,247 diamonds weighing 892.86 ct.

CEO Patrick Evans commented, "We are very pleased with the excellent results of the Kelvin bulk sample, which are the culmination of three years of drilling and sampling at Kelvin. The results confirm that the Kelvin kimberlite has the potential to host a high grade diamond resource."

Is another diamond mine on the horizon? Given that the Kennady project is adjacent to the Gahcho Kue development belonging to Mountain Province Diamonds and De Beers Canada, the answer might be “yes” someday.
