Eastmain Resources (TSX: ER) has a new management, led by president and CEO Claude Lemasson, and a new vision to advances its three key gold assets — Clearwater, Eastmain and Eleonore South joint venture — in Quebec’s relatively underexplored James Bay region. Eastmain holds the top land position, covering 1,376 km2 in the region, where Goldcorp (TSX: G; NYSE: GG) operates its Eleonore gold mine. That mine started commercial production in April 2015. Last year, the mine forecasted output of 250,000 to 280,000 oz of gold. “As you know, the company was completely focusing on the one asset, which was Clearwater, with the Eau Claire deposit. My vision number one was, ‘Well, we don’t have one asset, we have at least three.’ Because we have 11 properties [in James Bay] and three of those properties have actually very interesting potential on them. Two of which have actual resources in different stages and one is potentially a discovery,” Lemasson says. Read the entire story at The Northern Miner.
