ONTARIO - The presidents of CONFEDERATION COLLEGE (Thunder Bay), CAMBRIAN COLLEGE (Sudbury) and NORTHERN COLLEGE (Timmins) signed an agreement earlier this month that will encourage students to study for careers in the mineral industry. The deal will create linkages among the three colleges and promote transferability of mining credits earned at each institution.

Through the agreement, graduates of any one of the three colleges will receive full recognition of prior credits from a partner college. Graduates of Confederation's new one-year mining certificate program starting this September, will be eligible to transfer into the second year of the mining engineering technician programs at Northern and Cambrian. Graduates of the two-year mining engineering technician program at Northern College will be eligible to transfer to the three-year mining engineering technology program at Cambrian.
