NEWFOUNDLAND – Earth Sciences students at MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY OF NEWFOUNDLAND are looking for donations so that 20 of them can attend the PROSPECTORS AND DEVELOPERS ASSOCIATION OF CANADA meeting in Toronto this March. They need help raising $1,000 each for the five-day trip.

The PDAC provides students with a fabulous opportunity to network with key industry players, to obtain summer employment for the upcoming field season, and to gain a practical understanding of how their degrees will help them in the future and where they fall in the scheme of geology in Canada and the world.

The MUN students have been and will continue to work hard to raise funds for the trip. They regularly hold bake sales, ticket sales and department luncheons, and they have more ideas to help themselves, but time is short and extra donations would be most welcome.

Please contact Sarah Nicholson, the second year representative at the Alexander Murray Geological Society in St. John’s by phone (709-573-0353) or by e-mail (sarah.j.nicholson@gmail.com) for information about how you can help out.
