TORONTO - To celebrate its 50th Anniversary in Canada last year, Golder Associates donated $85,000 to Tree Canada's "Greening Canada's School Grounds" program. The company supported planting trees in 20 schools across the country in 2010, and the planting continues this year.

The latest school to plant a donated tree is David Thompson Elementary School in Kamloops, BC. An official ribbon cutting ceremony is to be held on Sept. 28, 2011.

Tree Canada will arrange tree planting events at selected schools in fall of 2011. Besides planting and maintaining the trees, Tree Canada will also conduct first-, second- and fifth-year assessments while retaining the title to carbon under this campaign.
