NOVA SCOTIA - The Nova Scotia Minister of Environment has granted approval for the Touquoy gold project near Halifax. The project is operated by DDV GOLD, a subsidiary of Australian mining company ATLANTIC GOLD.

The project is at the feasibility stage for an open pit mine and mill. The company gives the measured, indicated and inferred resource as 11.28 million tonnes averaging 1.8 g/t Au. Atlantic Gold hopes to develop a project with an annual throughput of 1.5 million tonnes for at least seven years. It anticipates producing 90,000 oz of gold per year.
