BRITISH COLUMBIA – Geoscience BC, a provincially supported non-profit organization in Vancouver, is launching the new $2.4 million “Search” project in northwest British Columbia in the hope of stimulating mineral exploration. This is the same area that is home to the high grade Brucejack advanced gold project.

For the Search project, an airborne magnetic survey will be conducted over 6,700 km2 between Terrace and Smithers. The survey is to be flown at a much closer line spacing than previous surveys of the area. BC-based Precision GeoSurveys will fly the survey.

Airborne geophysical survey data released by Geoscience BC has traditionally stimulated renewed exploration interest evidenced by increased claim staking. Exploration also leads to local procurement of goods and services to help stimulate and diversify local economies.

When completed, the Search project information will be made freely available to everyone through GeoscienceBC.com
