Vancouver's BOLERO RESOURCES has named Dr. John Childs its VP exploration and Dr. Don (Fess) Foster its VP governmental affairs. The company has two molybdenum prospects in Montana.

The new exploration management team at CHAMPION MINERALS of Toronto includes Martin Bourgoin (executive VP operations), Alexander Horvath (executive VP exploration) and Jeff Hussey (VP exploration). The company is active in Newfoundland, Labrador and Quebec.

EL NIO VENTURES of Vancouver has appointed Allan Lines as exploration manager in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Lines has worked in mineral exploration for the past 13 years, exploring for VMS base metals in eastern Canada, greenstone gold exploration in West Africa and, for the past several years has been managing exploration programs in the DRC Copperbelt.

MINDORO RESOURCES of Edmonton has named Alan Buenavista to the position of exploration manager at its subsidiary in the Philippines. Additionally, Dr. F.S. Mon Monteros is now VP social and environmental management.

Gaston Loyola has joined NORSEMONT MINING of Toronto and Lima, Peru, as VP exploration. He is a graduate geologist and holds an MSc from Queen's University in Kingston, Ont.

The new chief geologist at Vancouver's SOUTHERN ARC MINERALS is Andrew Rowe. He is a graduate of the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia, and is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Rowe joined Southern Arc in May 2006 as a consultant for the Pelangan and Selodong prospect areas at the company's South Lombok project.

U.S. SILVER CORP. of Toronto has boosted its geological team at the Galena silver-lead mine in northern Idaho. Gregory Nickel has rejoined the team as senior exploration geologist and Jeffrey Moe has been hired as senior mine geologist.

Gary Cohoon has joined YUKON GOLD CORP. of Toronto as VP exploration. He is the discoverer of the Dona Lake gold mine, which began production in 1983 in Ontario. Recently Cohoon has directed exploration on multi-million-dollar exploration programs for uranium in the Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan, and has assisted companies with exploration and acquiring projects in Canada, Mexico and South America.
