BRITISH COLUMBIA – Wenco International Mining Systems has signed a contract with Imperial Metals Corp. to supply the Mount Polley mine with the Wenco fleet management system and mobile supervisor terminals.

Mount Polley is an open pit copper-gold mine with a developing underground project, located 100 km northeast of William Lake. The mine began operations in 1997 and currently processes 20,000 tonnes of ore per day with an expected mine life extending to 2025.

Wenco hardware will be installed on 27 vehicles including six shovels and 19 haul trucks. Mobile supervisor terminals will be placed on two pickup trucks for control of the operation from within the pit. The Wenco system is expected to increase the accuracy of the mine's material handling while providing supervisors with information for more effective utilization of the available equipment, resulting in higher production.

With over 25 years in the industry and offices on six continents, Wenco delivers world class software and hardware to accurately record equipment activity, location, time, production, and maintenance information. Wenco products are supported by an in-house staff of engineers, mining industry experts, software developers, and training specialists.
