GEARS: No added lead time for customized Nord gears

WISCONSIN – A fully equipped machine shop with highly trained machinists allows for Nord Gear Corporation to accommodate special, customer specific requirements with ease. Nord’s machine shop, located on premise at their main US factory in Waunakee, Wisconsin, processes on average 20 to 30 specially designed or machined components each day. The shop has a large inventory of raw material and operates seven days a week allowing for most custom products to be delivered within the standard two-to-three week lead time. Nord’s wide variety of gear types covers torques from 10 Nm to 242,000 Nm and more.

A developer and manufacturer of drive technology, Nord Drivesystems employs more than 3,200 people and is one of the world’s leading suppliers of full scale, comprehensive drive solutions. Nord’s portfolio ranges from standard drives to customized solutions for demanding application requirements, e.g. based on energy efficient or explosion protected drives.

The company also supplies motors with outputs from 0.12 kW to 1,000 kW and manufactures frequency inverters up to 160 kW. Nord’s inverter line-up features conventional models for installation in control cabinets as well as design types for fully integrated drive units in decentralized automation environments.
