SPAIN – Vancouver-based Astur Gold Corp., owner of the Salave advanced gold exploration project in Asturias, has decided to produce a high grade flotation concentrate rather than build the planned pressure oxidation and carbon-in-leach circuits. The gold-containing concentrate will shipped to a smelter for further treatment.

The company believes that the elimination of cyanide from the project will resolve the remaining environmental objections for the processing plant and tailings pond.

The Salave gold project is one of the largest undeveloped gold deposits in western Europe, according to Astur. Approval for an underground mine has already been received. The latest news about the project is posted at AsturGold.com.
