YUKON – While drilling continues on the Orion zone, ATAC Resources of Vancouver has been conducting cyanide leach tests on samples from the same zone. A total  of 57 samples from six holes were tested. The samples displayed oxidation from weak, to moderate to strong. The 18 moderately oxidized samples had an average recovery of 85%. Seven strongly oxidized samples had an average recovery rate of 89%. The 32 samples that had week or no oxidation had an average recovery of only 3%. Original gold values varied from 0.25 to 9.57 g/t Au. Graham Downs, president and CEO of ATAC, said, “The depth of oxidation at over 160 metres is of particular significance as it indicates an extensive oxidizing environment exists at Orion. Additional drilling at Orion and along the Anubis Fault remains a top priority.” ATAC has completed 1,540 metres of shallow drilling in the Orion zone. The best result was 2.75 g/t over 61.29 metres including 3.98 g/t over 14.61 metres and 3.92 g/t over 13.15 metres.
