NOVA SCOTIA – Atlantic Gold Corp. of Vancouver has made a maiden mineral estimate for its Fifteen Mile Stream gold deposit 95 km northeast of Halifax. The deposit lies along the same geological trend as the company's other deposits (Touquoy, Beaver Dam and Cochrane Hill). All are hosted within the same stratigraphy and structure over a strike length of 80 km.

Using a cut-off of 0.5 g/t, the Fifteen Mile Stream deposit has 11.72 million inferred tonnes averaging 1.55 g/t Au and containing 584,000 oz of gold. The estimate was made using information from historic holes and 3,741 metres drilled in 2011 by Acadian Mining, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlantic.

Gold was discovered at Fifteen Mile Stream in 1867, and a former mine produced 19,400 oz of gold between 1883 and 1911. The property was drilled again in the mid-to-late 1980s and recently in 2011. The mineralization is localized within a north-dipping sequence of sediments around and within the hinge zone of the anticline with mudstones bearing thin layer, parallel quartz veins being the preferred host.
