ONTARIO – Brigus Gold Corp. of Halifax has drilled the deepest mineralization to date at the Black Fox mine 3 km east of Matheson. The company reports that hole GF 454-01-W interested 40.71 g/t Au over 26.75 metres, including 103.20 g/t over 8.35 metres. The hole was drilled from underground approximately 700 metres from surface.

The company engaged in a limited drilling program to test the down dip extension of the Black Fox orebody. Other deposits in the region, along the Destor Porcupine Fault, often extend to depths of more than 1,000 metres, it noted. The Black Fox deposit remains open in all directions.

High grades are also being encountered in the nearby Grey Fox project. The best intersection there was 13.25 metres that assayed 20.93 g/t Au in the 147 zone.
