BRITISH COLUMBIA – Discovery Ventures of Vancouver has filed an application with the BC Ministry of Mines to take a 10,000-tonne bulk sample from its Willa gold-copper project in the Slocan district. The permit also allows trenching, blasting, drilling, underground exploration, subject to certain terms and conditions.

Discovery plans to re-open the underground portals for exploration later this year. It will also conduct mine planning and engineering and will rehabilitate the existing access roads.

The proposed mining method at Willa be longhole stoping and shrinkage stoping. It is estimated that the majority of the economical resources will be amenable to longhole mining methods, with minimum stoping widths of 5 metres and maximum widths in some stoping blocks exceeding 30 metres. Shrinkage stoping methods will be applied in cases where the mineral width is less than 5.0 metres, but where the grade is sufficiently high to warrant the expected higher unit development and stoping costs.

Discovery plans to apply for a Small Mines Permit during or immediately after the bulk sampling is concluded. This permit will allow the mining of up to 75,000 tonnes of ore annually.
