GOLD-COPPER: Drilling at Mount Polley tests potential under pits

BRITISH COLUMBIA – Vancouver-based Imperial Metals Corp. has been drilling at its Mount Polley gold-copper mine 100 km northeast of Williams Lake and confirms significant mineralization lies below the Springer and Cariboo pits.

BRITISH COLUMBIA – Vancouver-based Imperial Metals Corp. has been drilling at its Mount Polley gold-copper mine 100 km northeast of Williams Lake and confirms significant mineralization lies below the Springer and Cariboo pits.

Mineralization was intersected immediately below the current pit surface of the active Springer pit, and it continues at depth for several hundred metres. Imperial said that the high gold:copper ratio in the higher grade interval of hole SD12-144 is particularly encouraging. Below is a brief table of the results from the Springer drilling.

Drilling in the Cariboo pit was completed with low angle holes collared into the east wall of the Springer pit, as well as steeper holes collared to the south of the Cariboo pit. All 12 drill holes targeting the deep Cariboo returned significant grades and will result in additional drilling to further define the edges of the deep Cariboo zone. Below are highlights from the Cariboo holes.

Six holes were also drilled in the Quarry zone, the best of which intersected 13.3 metres grading 1.15% Cu and 0.04 g/t Au. A hole was also drilled in the Boundary zone for geotechnical purposes.
