BRITISH COLUMBIA — Toronto-based Seabridge Gold has new resource numbers for the Mitchell zone that significantly expand the contained metals estimates—over 30 million oz of gold and nearly 6 billion lb of copper.

The Mitchell zone is part of the Kerr-Sulphurets property 65 km northwest of Stewart. Seabridge holds a 100% interest in what it claims is one of the five largest undeveloped gold-copper deposits in the world.

The measured and indicated resource is 1.5 billion tonnes grading 0.64 g/t Au and 0.18% Cu, or 30.8 million oz of contained gold and 5.99 billion lb of contained copper. The measured and indicated tonnage is twice as large as the indicated tonnage estimate made in 2008. In the inferred category there are 514.9 million tonnes grading 0.51 g/t Au and 0.14% Cu, for an additional 8.4 million oz of gold and 1.59 billion lb of copper. A cutoff of 0.50 g/t AuEq was used.
