QUEBEC - Vancouver-based AURIZON MINES has raised $25.3 million dollars with which to continue work at its Casa Berardi gold mine in the northwestern part of the province. The money will allow the company to install a hoist and headframe, build an electrical substation, begin shaft sinking, continue underground development, and keep the underground exploration drills turning.

Aurizon owns 100% of the former Casa Berardi gold mine. Mining permits have been obtained, and operations are expected to begin in late 2006. An executive summary of the feasibility study released in January 2005 may be read at www.Aurizon.com. The property contains estimated probable reserves of 4.95 million tonnes grading 5.96 g/t Au. There are also indicated resources of 1.62 million tonnes at 9.95 g/t Au and inferred resources of 5.61 million tonnes at 6.50 g/t Au.
